A new report into legacy giving in Ireland has been published by Campaign Solutions, a leading Irish legacy research and fundraising consultancy lead by Niall O’Sullivan, interim Chairperson of My Legacy.
2020 legacy information was supplied by 23 Legacy Insights research clients and data covering over €16.84m in total bequest income for 2020 was provided. 2020 showed a drop nationally which is reflected in the reduction in bequest numbers and total values provided. This document provides a snapshot of some of the research findings which will be of interest to charities planning to grow vital legacy income.
In addition, Campaign Solutions is undertaking a very short legacy survey to Irish charities to examine the current level of staff tasked with legacy programmes. You can take this important one minute survey at https://survey.sogolytics.com/r/HXCxtW
Campaign Solutions notes from the 2021 accounts of 90 charities that legacy income was up 25% and it is increasingly important for charities to administer and respond to the needs of a growing number of donors and supporters for information and guidance around legacy giving.
