A bequest of €2 million has been left to UCC’s Department of Music in what is the largest gift the department has received in its 113 year history.
A lifelong music lover, Sidney V Regan, who died in 2017, bequeathed almost all of his estate to the university.
Mr Regan also gifted €200,000 of his estate to four charities that had captured his heart. COPE Foundation, Marymount Hospice, the Cork Deaf Association, and the National Council for the Blind were all recipients of Mr Regan’s generosity.
